LED TORUŃ 2011Field trip  

The conference will be followed up by an optional 4-day (15th to 18th July 2011) post-conference trip to several places of interest in north and south Poland (Medieval castle of Malbork, site of Wapienno and Biskupin, caves near Kraków in the so-called Polish Jurassic Highland, Wieliczka salt mine – UNESCO World Heritage site and the city of Kraków). The trip will conclude in Kraków on 18th July, 2011.

The number of participants in the field trip is limited to 50.

The fee is 2000 PLN per participant. The fee covers expenses for 15th July-18th July. This includes entrance fees, transport, food and accommodation (nights 15/16th, 16/17th, 17/18th).

A limited number of single rooms is available at an additional cost of 200 PLN.

15 July 2011 A tour of the medieval city Chełmno and the gothic castle of the Teutonic Knights in Malbork
(Stay overnight in Hotel Uniwersytecki in Toruń)
16 July 2011 Visit to strip mine of calcareous rocks in Wapienno
Visit to the archaeological museum in Biskupin
17 July 2011 A tour of the Ojców National Park
A tour of the Wieliczka salt mine

There are 15 spaces available for an off the beaten track tour at an additional cost of 100 PLN per person. Good stamina is required for this tour.

18 July 2011 A tour of Kraków

In Kraków there is an airport with a number of national and international connections as well as a major railway station.
